Kindergarten and First Grade Information Night!

A Kindergarten and First Grade informational evening will be held on Thursday, February 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the CCS Library. Come and hear about our program, view the curriculum, and learn about scholarship opportunities. Bring along any interested friends!

Registration for 2010-2011 is now underway!

Registration forms for the 2010-2011 school year are now available in the school office and online.

Classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis based on the date the tuition deposit is received. Priority registration for returning students ends on March 12, 2010; new students will be placed into classes with openings after that date.

Registration Fee: The registration fee for the 2010-2011 school year is $125 and is non-refundable and non-transferable. The fee is payable when an application for enrollment is made.

Tuition Deposit: Upon placement in a class, a tuition deposit of one month's tuition for each child enrolled is due. The tuition deposit will be credited toward the final tuition payment of the registered school year and is non-refundable and non-transferable. Your child's class placement is secured when the tuition deposit has been received and processed.

CCS Open House

All current and prospective students and their families are invited to attend our CCS Open House this coming Sunday, November 15 from 11:30 am - 2:30 pm. School tours will be given by CCS ambassadors and staff members will be on hand to answer questions! We will also be presenting information on our new 1st Grade class and future upper grades.

CCS Annual Fund Campaign

The 2009-2010 Annual Fund Campaign is now underway. We ask that you take a few minutes to consider supporting our campaign.

Your tuition contributions cover approximately 90% of our total budget. This requires the school to raise funds every year to help cover the costs of some of the areas that make our school unique. With your assistance, we are able to hire specialists to teach Library, Music, and PE, and provide a Chaplain for our chapel services. Your contributions also allow us to continue to enhance our facility both in the classrooms and on the playground.

Ice Cream Social & Open House - 9/24/09

CCS invites all current students, alumni, and friends to our annual Ice Cream Social and Open House on Thursday, September 24, 2009 from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Visit with your favorite teachers, reconnect with friends, and enjoy a lovely evening on the CCS playground! All classrooms will be open during the evening, please take a moment to visit the classrooms and see all of the creative artwork on display.

Spirit Day - Thursday, September 10

Join us for our first CCS Spirit Day of the 2009-2010 school year! Students may wear their CCS Cubs t-shirts instead of uniforms on Spirit Day. Cubs stickers will be distributed to Spirit Day participants, and donuts will be on sale for $1 each at the SE gate. CCS t-shirts, baseball caps, and bucket hats will also be for sale, along with gently-used uniforms from the Saints' Closet. All proceeds go to the CCS Saints for use in funding projects for the benefit of CCS students. We look forward to seeing your school spirit!

Welcome Back!

Welcome to all our students and their families! The 2009-2010 school year is off to a great start. It is wonderful to have our students back on campus, and we are all enjoying the addition of our Two-year-old classes.

We enjoyed our Opening Chapel on August 26, which included special guests Right Reverend Kirk Stevan Smith, Bishop of Arizona, and his friend Dexter. It was a wonderful celebration of the start of our school year.

New Two-Year-Old program for Fall 2009 - Enroll now!

Christ Church School is pleased to announce the opening of a Two-Year-Old program for Fall 2009.

To be eligible for this class, students must be two by September 1, 2009. This class does not require uniforms, children do not need to be potty trained. There are two options for this class, either Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays. Class sizes will be limited to 8-10 students with two teachers. The regular classroom hours are 9:00 am - noon.

Extended day students will have lunch with their teachers and then participate in additional activities in their classroom until pick-up at 1:15 pm. The extended day can also be done on an occasional drop-in basis at a cost of $8.75 per day.

Due to the late start-up of this class, the registration fee for Twos has been lowered from $100 to $25 for this year and this class only.

In order to secure your child's placement in this class, a tuition deposit of $190 is also required at this time. The tuition deposit will be credited toward the September tuition payment of the current school year. Both the registration fee and the tuition deposit are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Please note that classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis based upon receipt date of registration forms and fees.

Cubs Camp 2009

Christ Church School's Cubs Camp 2009 is in full swing! Our students are enjoying our "I Can . . ." classes and have participated in all sorts of reading and writing activities. We still have a few spots open for Week 3 (June 14-18), please contact the school office at (602) 381-9906 to sign up. Our theme for Week 3 is "I Can Count", and all of the Cubs Camp classes will be full of numbers and counting activities!

CCS Carnival!

The annual CCS carnival was held on Friday, April 24 on the playground. CCS families, alumni, and friends had a wonderful time bouncing in the bouncy house, sliding down the GIGANTIC air slide, petting animals in the petting zoo and more! Everyone enjoyed the music of a DJ as they ate hot dogs, popcorn, cotton candy. Carnival games and activities like the cake walk, face painting, and basketball toss made the evening complete. Thank you to the CCS carnival committee and volunteers who made the evening so magical!

Bike Days!

On Thursday, April 16 and Friday, April 17, CCS students were invited to bring their bikes to school! An obstacle course was set up in the CCS parking lot for students to ride through. Students decorated their bikes and discussed the importance of bike safety, then donned their helmets and rode with their classmates (and sometimes even teachers)! Thank you to all the volunteers who made these days possible.

Vehicle Day

On Wednesday, April 15, CCS students were treated to a Vehicle Day in the CCS parking lot! Students toured a real Madison School District school bus, a U-Haul truck, a fire engine, a boat, a Ferrari race car, a police SUV, and the Blue Bell ice cream truck which provided ice cream to all participants. Thank you to all of our volunteers and sponsors who helped to make this day such a success!

CCS expansion APPROVED!

Dear CCS families,

We are delighted to announce that our proposal to expand the school received unanimous approval from the Town of Paradise Valley Town Council!

Beginning Fall 2010, CCS will add 1st through 4th grades, adding one grade per year.

Many thanks to everyone who attended our town council meetings. And, many thanks to the support we received from all of you, parents, faculty, clergy, vestry, staff and parishioners!

God has blessed us with a wonderful opportunity to grow a Christian school and parish.

Dad's Day Barbeque

On Saturday, February 28, CCS students and their fathers had fun on the CCS playground enjoying the annual CCS Dad's Day Barbeque! Soccer, basketball, and cookie decorating were just a few of the exciting activities offered during this event run by the CCS Saints. What a great way to spend the morning with other CCS families and our teachers!

CCS Health Fair

On Wednesday, February 4, CCS students participated in our annual Health Fair in Parish Hall. Each class learned about sun safety, water safety, proper hand washing and dental hygiene procedures. The students then ate a healthy snack and recorded their height and weight measurements in the Blue Cross Blue Shield Health Safari bus. Thank you to:

Pajama and Pancake Days!

CCS students wore their pajamas to school on either Tuesday, January 27 or Wednesday, January 28. They were treated to a yummy breakfast of pancakes with whipped cream and bananas, bacon and sausage. The breakfast was cooked and served by many of our CCS dads! Thank you to all our volunteers who made this event so special.

Snow Days 2009

On Thursday, January 15 and Friday, January 16 the CCS parking lot was turned into an arctic wonderland! Although temperatures were in the high 70's, all the CCS students bundled up in their winter warmest to play in the snow that "fell" in our parking lot overnight. Everyone had a great time sledding down the big mountain, making snowmen, and throwing snow balls. After getting cold and wet outside, the children came inside to warm up with hot chocolate and graham crackers. Thank you to the CCS Saints for all their hard work and preparation which helped make these days so much fun for everyone!

A visit from Mrs. Claus

We all know that Santa is extremely busy at this time of year, but CCS students were very fortunate to receive a visit from Mrs. Claus on Wednesday, December 17. Mrs. Claus entertained the students with wonderful Christmas stories, then presented the students with candy canes.
